Dim sum is served all day here? I know some places don't serve dim sum in the evening?
Service is great, better than most of the restaurants I went to. Food is very pricey especially because they charge $35 hkd per head for tea (which is quite expensive even for western standards). Food is not cheap either, I would recommend going to Tim Ho wan instead.
More5 stars for decor. Amazing to find this perfect tea house slap bang in the centre. A proper taste of old Hong Kong.
MoreRetro decor and traditional Cantonese tea practice to show. Dim sum is not that great. Tea is good. Good for the feel.
MoreLove the ambiance, as it looks so traditional. However the food was ok only, vegetables were over done and service was a little intrusive. Not sure if i would go back
MoreTasty yum cha restaurant in Central. Has English menu. Old style building. Enjoyed our visit 👍
MoreBest place in Hong Kong for early morning dim sum. Food: good in an old-fashion way. Deco is unique and artful. Service is not bad considering.
MoreIf you like being retro.
Old age Chinese tea house with dim sum, absolutely historical
Delicious dim sum. English menu and photos for those of us not well versed in Dim Sum lore.
MoreTraditional Chinese Restaurant and Quality Tea
I would go if I’m a tourist
Although the price is quite expensive, the food is very good.
Delicious food and truly Hong Kong gem. The almond broth pig lung soup is to die for. What an treasure and an experience.
MoreMediocre tea house, rip off merchants. We ordered a few Dim sum dishes but they had no vegetables on the menu so we asked for a side order of green vegetables. They brought us a small plate of green vegetables without mentioning that they charged $220hkd (about £22, almost $30 usd). Truly obnoxious. The dim sum was fine, nothing special.
MoreGood value and high quality tea and yum cha. Beautiful environment with a long history. Good service from the time served staff.
MoreTaste like frozen dim sum from Asian supermarket, overpriced
Famous Tradition Tea House in Hong Kong. In 40's style . food is good but very very expensive.
MoreGood food great service
Nice atmosphere but staffs don't care the foreigners . No paper napkins even we asked for it ,no offer for the sauces .Also, ask for the tip at the end.Quality of food is not good enough for the price .
MoreYou must visit. Bring more money. Tip well if u get your seat in 15 minutes. Best time to go weekend morning at 7am. A historical Tea house.
MoreGreat food at a fairly high price. Strictly for those in the know. Don't expect any service for a walk in customer.
MoreThey have an English menu and very nice food.
It is a Hong Kong experience for visitors. More so nowadays as old dim sum tea houses disappear. Recommend trying their different kinds of teas that are served in individual cups with a lid that serve as individual teapots. That way, each diner can have his or her own choice of tea. It is a little tricky not to burn yourself so be careful. Observe how others pour their tea.The dim sum is, well, mediocre and old fashioned. You can order from dim sum trays as the waitresses bring them around, or order from a sheet, which of course is only in Chinese.Being such a well known tourist site, the surprising truth is that they don't much crave tourist business, as they enjoy a strong local patronage.
MoreAuwfuk service, this is no longer a place to visit!
This place is overrated and overpriced for what you get. Think it is a hangout for their regulars but as a first timer there the experience is not great to say the least. The dim sum is average, and there are much better dim sum around HK than this place. Maybe it has history so you are paying for visiting it as a museum but for food I'll go elsewhere.
MoreIt is a good experience to enjoy traditional dim sum in the oldest tea house in Hong Kong.
MoreGood Chinese tea and dim sum
We went during lunch time. Ground floor was packed, we were told by the waiters there are more seats upstairs. Ordered the dim sum and a huge portion of pork noodles. It taste surprisingly great. Most of the customers are local elders so we know thr food must be authentic and good which didn't disappoint us. And the plus point is all the waiters are very friendly and smiling to us which are very hard to find in Hong Kong especially.
More2019 Michelin guide. Lovely place for good food. Service is quick and friendly too. Tried a few tasty traditional dishes. Would be better if come in large groups because portion of dishes are quite big
MoreI was there for dinner with my family. The food was not cheap but it was worth the money. We ordered food with less meat and more vegetables, because my parents wanted to have a meal that’s not so heavily “flavoured”. The pig-lung soup, not sure this is the real name, was really good and a delightful surprise. Apart from the price, everything is above average and quite well-done.
MoreThe best dim sum in Central. It's where the locals eat. Multi-level space with plenty of room for large groups.
MoreI went for breakfast. And I dont know what I ordered as there seems to be no menu. There are employees who bring around trays of food and just shout what they are in Cantonese. The food is pretty ok.
MoreWe really had a good time to enjoy and indulged our meal at this tea house in Hongkong. The dumplings taste great and the atmosphere was perfect.
MoreAlways my favorite of going to Luk Yu to catch up with old friends who have been workong there since I was a boy… walking into Luk Yu is like time has stood still and in case u have time, do spend sometime to listen to old time stories from the staffs who worked at Luk Yu for more than 40 yrs
MoreIt's a lovely place in an old traditional Chinese tea house style restaurant highlighted with Western stain glass. Our meal was delicious and the service was outstanding. The only criticism is the noise level that is amplified from all hard surfaces around. A great place for traditional Cantonese style dishes.
MorePricey for what it worths. Portions are small for the price. Service is bad. The waiters are not the most polite in the world. We asked for a specific table that was empty then the waiter lied to us that it was occupied. He led us to a dark and inconvenient corner. 2mins later another waiter led a couple to that empty table we asked for. Why? Seems like they don't treat all their customers equal. Well... This is the first time I visit, and it's most likely my last.
MoreDelicious dim sum, the crispy one was a miss though. Quite expensive for a breakfast but worth a try!!
MoreThe service is prompt, friendly and relaxed. Food is good, tasty but not overly salty and seasoned. Good old style deco. One tip I was given - don’t brother trying for a table on the ground floor during peak hour if you are not connected or famous - go up stairs.
MoreIf you are looking for real good quality food, this may not be the place you should visit. Luk Yue offers you an unique dining experience that no other local restaurant can possibly offer. I will come again with my guests for business lunch or dinner.
MoreDelicious cooking, authentic atmosphere, a little pricey...
Great dim sum in a quaint, authentic setting.
Great traditional restaurant. Taste is exceptional great and traditional which is not easy to find nowadays
MoreAlways a top choice for occasion and wanted old tradition Cantonese cuisine.
Very Traditional Cantonese yum cha place ,one of the very few still exists in Hong Kong . traditional and classic dishes you can't find it else where , I came here since very young with my parents and every now and then I go to HK , I must visit , many unique dishes you should try and you can not compare this place with other restaurant , you either love it or hate it .. and I love it .
MoreTraditional style tea house serving good dumplings. Liked the old atmosphere and the steamed shrimp dumpling
MorePricey for what it's worth, portions were small. Good that we didn't have to wait, and the food tasted alright . Won't be coming again though ... Better options out there.
MoreVery old tea house serving authentic Cantonese food. Good service by the waiter too. But unfortunately he told me that business isn't doing well due to all the riots. Hopefully they can stay in business and keep their jobs! The location is ok located on Stanley Street.
Morepoor service and food quality, the staffs unfriendly
Gweilo? If your not from Hongkong or China, you will most certainly be treated badly. Do not visit.
MoreHated it! Terrible service, they forgot to bring the food first then they brought wrong food. I haven’t seen such a bad restaurant in my life. Food tasted terrible. The waiter was laughing after all. I asked to speak to manager. They said manager on holidays! They spoilt our night 😫😫😫
